Completing your training on a shared tablet (SFP 5.1)

How staff open their own training record on the shared kitchen tablet with their PIN, complete each Activity type, and fix a rejected certificate.

For: All staff

Note: Training Management is part of the Training Management Module. It's included in some plans and available as an add-on on others. To activate it, contact your Customer Success Manager or [email protected].

Your kitchen tablet stays logged in as one shared account, so the Training page asks you to confirm who you are with your PIN before it opens a training record. Once you're in, anything you complete counts toward that record, so your certificates, quizzes and sign-offs are ready when your verifier asks for them.

Open your training record on the tablet

You'll need a Staff Record with a 4-digit PIN. If you don't have a PIN, ask your manager.

  1. Open the menu on the tablet (three bars in the top left-hand corner)

  2. Tap Training

  3. Tap your name in the list of training records

  4. Tap your name again in the verification list

  5. Enter your PIN

Your training record opens, showing everything you're required to do, what's due soon and what you've already completed.

Note: A "Tablet" access level staff record or user can only open their own training record. Opening someone else's record needs a Tablet Manager, Manager or Admin PIN.

Understand what you need to do

Each item on your record is a Requirement, such as a food handler certificate or an allergen awareness quiz. A Requirement is made up of one or more Activities you need to complete.

  • Red banner: a Critical Requirement. Complete these first.

  • Yellow banner: a Required item that's due or overdue.

  • Optional: you can complete it, but it never shows as overdue.

Complete a training Activity

  1. Open your training record (see above)

  2. Tap the Requirement you want to work on

  3. Tap the Activity to open it

  4. Follow the instructions for that Activity type (see the table below)

The Activity is credited to the training record you're in, not to the shared tablet login.

  2. Tap the Requirement showing as rejected

  3. Read the reason your manager gave

  4. Upload a new photo or file that fixes the problem

You don't need to start the Requirement again. The new upload goes back to your manager for approval.

Complete training by email instead

If your business has turned on external training requests and your Staff Record has an email address, you'll also receive an email link to your training. Work done through the email link and work done on the tablet both count toward the same training record.
