Using the Numeric Answer Type

The Numeric Answer type can be used in many ways e.g. to show different units, use decimal places, set boundaries and limits that send notifications when exceeded.

You can use the Numeric Answer type by adding it to an existing form or adding it to a custom form.

To do this simply:

  1. Log in to the Admin Console (Computer Log in).

  2. Go to Forms.

  3. Either click the Green plus button to create a new form or the pencil icon to alter an existing form.

  4. Click the Question button to add a new question.

  5. Change the Answer Type to Numeric.

  6. Then adjust the following tools to suit you

Selecting a Unit

Units can be used in Numeric Answers, these will then display the unit in the answer when it comes to reporting.

Select from these units:

  • Temperature.

  • Weight.

  • Volume.

  • Distance/Length.

  • Pressure

  • Custom Unit. Enter the Unit Name & Unit Symbol you need.

Using Decimal Places

You can set your precision by selecting how many decimal places you want to be displayed.

  • 0 = a whole number e.g. 1, 2, 10, 52

  • 1 = 1 Decimal Place e.g. 1.0, 20.8, 100.7

  • 2 = 2 Decimal Places e.g. 3.00, 45.09, 309.99


Set Numeric Boundaries

This is the Advanced numeric feature, where you can set limits that your team can't exceed.

To set this up:

  1. Click the Use Warnings & Limits toggle

  2. Enter the Minimum and maximum value allowed

  3. Enter the Lower & Upper Warning value

  4. Set what the warning message is.

  5. SAVE.

Reject Values:

  1. Click the Enable 'Reject Values' toggle

  2. Enter the Upper Auto-Reject Value & Lower Auto-Reject value

  3. Set what the additional warning message is.
